When APT first opened, the address was anonymous. People would walk up and down W. 13th Street for any signs of this nightlife location. It was a hot idea- if you found the secret buzzer.

Once in, patrons would sashay past extremely built guards to either the upstairs restaurant (hopefully you ate before hand because the appetizer-sized portions would not fill you up) or the downstairs which was a quintessential New York bar with its DJ’s and beautiful people.

The twist- It looked like a trendy furnished apartment (I wonder how they thought of the name!?) The music was mainly hip hop tunes, people would dance in the crowded area and you would have to admit, if the venue was an actual apartment, it would be one sexy pad.

Too bad the undisclosed location became public. Apt does not have the draw it used to - and it’s not as exciting to discover. Go just to see what it looks like and have an apple martini - with a real apple slice.

Bottom Line: This APT should go up for sale….it’s time to move on.
