In the heart of the Weed St. clubbing and bar district, Hogs N Honeys offers a little variation to your night out. Everyone has been so used to going to the Weed St district to club hop, any maybe head into Joe's for a quick drink while their freinds hold their places in the long lines of Zentra, Circus, or Crobar.
Now, as of a couple of years ago, Hogs n Honeys opened its doors to us Chicagoans. Hogs n Honeys is actually a renamed Hogs n Heifers, which is the original bar in New York that was inspired by the movie Coyote Ugly.
They are located right smack in the middle of all the clubs, so amongst all the club-goers wandering the streets in their flashy clothes, and sometimes with their ever-cool sunglasses on at 2am, there is a bar where you will most likely see about a dozen harley's parked outside with sounds of people having the most fun coming from the inside.
Leave the spit-shined shoes and Dolce Gabbana shirt at home, get comforatable and come ready to have a crazy fun time.
Chicago bar regulars are used to the low-key, cocktail sipping places, so when they walk through the threshold of Hogs n Honeys, it puts a smile to their face mixed with a look of surprise to see wild girls dancing on the bar.
Which, you can see at other places in the city, but not on a regular nightly basis, and its required by the bartenders to do so. Also, after seeing them and getting sprayed by their bar gun with water, you wipe your eyes clean and see a body being tossed around.
Your curiosity brings you closer and you notice someone riding a mechanical bull. After seeing all this you and all your friends say "why did it take so long for Chicago to get a place like this?"
Drink prices are moderately cheap, if you compare it to the surrounding clubs, dirt cheap! The crowd is a huge mix, from Clyborn Corridor locals to club kids just wanting a break from the club scene, to out of town visitors, to tatooed suburbanites riding in on there harleys.
Don't worry about wondering what night to go, every night is a blast there, whether you go on a Saturday night when its at its most crowded, of if you go on a Monday night to shake off the stress of work. Hogs N Honeys is open 7 days a week.
"Where the music rocks loud, the bull throws hard, the bar gets danced on, and everyone gets wet"
