Miami's Newest hotspot GIGI

Nightlife impresario and restaurateur Alexandre Duff and Joe Delaney have partnered in launching the newest downtown Miami restaurant, GIGI. Located at 190 NE 46th Street, GIGI specializes in “uncomplicated French fare,” and is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Named after Gigi Ganatra, the eatery serves familiar French bistro fare long missing from the Miami dining scene. Staples such as Steak Frites, Chicken Paillard and Sirloin Steak au Poivres comprise a savory and well-priced menu, with main dishes ranging from $11 to $21.

Frisée aux Lardons with Poached Egg and Salade Niçoise with Grilles Tuna are just two of the sumptuous salads GIGI offers as a starter. Tuna Tartare with Tomato and Chili Oil, Moules Frites and Cane Skewered Chicken with peanut Sauce are a few of the delectable appetizers served. Prices for salads and appetizers range from $7 to $14.

Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm a comprehensive brunch menu is served that includes Strawberry French Toast, Steak and Eggs, Omelets and Quiche Lorraine. For a delightful price of $15, brunch also includes a glass of Prosecco, Sangria or a mimosa.

Downtown Miami and the Design District have long been the destination for artists, socialites, and hipsters looking for an alternative to the commercialization of South Beach. Duff says he hopes GIGI’s will become a clubhouse of sorts for those “in the know.”

A delicious and well-priced menu makes GIGI a hotspot not to be missed. Chocolate brown ceilings, hand painted murals and burgundy leather banquettes offer customers a cozy and romantic retreat within the bustling city.
