The Sanctuary Hotel, located at 1745 James Avenue, is Miami's newest 'boutique' hotel. It's clean, light and white style is reminiscent of it's large sisters the Delano and the Shore Club.

The difference here is it's intimate vibe. There are only 30 rooms, and thus guests receive a high level of personal service. This means that it is well suited to those who want a discreet home-from-home get away.

Located steps from both Lincoln Road and the beach. The hotel amenities include a restaurant - Sugo - upscale, Italian dining; a rooftop pool and bar; a spa and a hair salon.

Each of it's 30 rooms are contemporary; decorated in dark wood and white with Frette sheets and 42 inch plasma TV screens. Each room has a marble kitchen with microwave, expresso machine and a mini bar with beverages and snacks from Whole Foods.

The hotel's rooftop bar is small but stylish with cabana seats and a gorgeous view of South Beach, especially nice when lit up at night. Miami favorite Shaq recently rented out the whole bar area to treat his wife to a romantic Mother's Day night.

South Beach scenesters have been spreading the word about the bar ever since the hotel's TAI Entertainment-hosted debut, earlier this year. Thus it has become a hip hang out for those that want to avoid the crowds and velvet rope drama, but still have a cocktail or a few in classy surroundings.

The hotel also offers unique services for women who are traveling alone, such as providing running buddies for those who want to jog on the beach. Single women also receive a 25% discount off the regular room rate.

With all this in place Keith Menin's hotel is one more reason to visit Miami Beach. Aptly nicknamed 'The Swanktuary' it is worth a visit if not to stay, to have dinner at Sugo or to visit the rooftop bar.
