What’s not to like about the Standard Downtown?

The bar and pool area is gorgeous. Sitting on top of the Standard Downtown Hotel, it is an area made for partying. Providing stunning views of Downtown LA’s skyscrapers, the futuristic décor makes you feel like you are in something out of the Fifth Element.

Being LA the weather is usually lovely but if it gets too cold they have heaters to warm you up.

There is plenty of seating, including some cool white pod-shaped structures with red water beds inside. Large enough to share these beds are perfect to cozy up on.

There is also a pool and a small dance area and beverage and food service.

On the day I was there LA home DJ, Marques Wyatt was spinning his funked up sounds for the Sunday afternoon crowd.

People were lounging around drinking, talking and later on seriously dancing as the sun set.

The vibe was fun, upbeat and very LA, and the crowd are a dressed up blend of LA locals and their friends.
